Determination of aspartame and alitame in liquid dairy products and milk-containing beverages in the Chinese market

Aspartame and alitame are a type of food additives commonly used in recent years. However, it is difficult to con-clude that long-term use synthetic sweeteners completely harmless. This study aimed establish simple high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method detect these two sweeteners, measure the concentrations dairy products milk-containing beverages Chinese market. In this experiment, aspartame had good linearity, average recovery values were also with relative standard deviations (RSDs) 0.4–2.2%. The limits detections (LODs) 0.52 0.48 µg g–1 for alitame, respectively. According consumer daily purchase habits, 100 samples purchased from supermarkets milk tea shops Jinan, China. results showed amount added all did not exceed national standards, but there was problem label content incomplete. We hope relevant departments would strengthen supervision management labelling, protect legitimate rights interests consumers.
